As I mentioned in a recent post, I do like a good leopard print, and today I wanted to show how a leopard print can be used in your home. Aside from the typical preteen’s room done up in a hot pink and leopard, leopard print can look quite classic and sophisticated.
Recently my father gave me a book that he has had for decades (it was printed in 1967) on French home interiors. The book is full of Paris apartments and country homes with beautiful furnishings. Obviously some things look outdated. Most of the decor that looks outdated comes from the fabrics and wall coverings as well as the way things are accessorized. The big exception with fabrics though, is toile(another of my favorites) and leopard print which both are timeless.
Much to my delight I turned a page and there was a leopard print sofa complimented by a beautiful tufted emerald chair! I love that combination.
You could take the sofa, the chair, the bookcase and that awesome step stool in the background and plop it right into a living room of today don’t you think? It goes to show that it is a pattern that has stood the test of time and if it suits your home, don’t be afraid to use it!

How much fun is this room, so colorful and “Lilly Pulitzer” like…….
As you can see decorating with leopard print is much like dressing. Use one major item (sofa, floor covering, set of chairs) or use accent pieces (ottoman, pillows, side chair).
I actually do not have any leopard print in my home but my hope is to find a very muted leopard print in maybe a soft gray or “salmoney” (is that even a word?) color to use on the seat of the chair for my desk in my little office project. Wish me luck in my search!
Have a beautiful day!

Love the different looks. Especially surprised by the bathroom!. You have always loved leopard and I think a piece should be in your home if not definitely your office.I think it is fun and we should all try to put a little fun in our homes!
