The Peasant Top

During the warmer months, I love the look of the peasant top, the embroidery and the easy fit are something I am definitely drawn to.  We love a top that can be worn dressed up or down right?  Well, whether out and about on a casual summer day or paired with dress pants in the evening, hair pulled up and pretty earrings– the peasant top is a must have and will never go out of style.

A Fashionable Friday

As you may have gathered by now, I am an accessory girl and believe that every outfit can be elevated by some great accessories.  Accessories can break the bank as much as clothing and just like clothes, sometimes you can get away spending less without looking like you have and sometimes you can’t.

Today I put together an outfit that I believe can look just as great with the lower priced accessories as it can with the higher priced items.

Assecorize for Less

FYI — I have seen both pairs of shoes, the ones from Target are great looking, I was so bummed  because I was in between sizes and they did not fit me right (or else I would have snagged them).  The ones from J. Crew are just as you would expect and worth the money if within your budget!

Have a beautiful weekend!

Target Find

Love this Target find! I was in Target the other day and this bag was sitting front and center in the accessories department.  I had to stop and check it out, I’m always on the hunt for nice looking beach bags. It is a great size, nice and roomy for all of your towels and extra necessities.  The handles are nice and long too.  I hate how some beach bags have a handle that is too short and won’t fold easily over the bag’s contents!

Monday’s Makeover

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and if you are a mom, that you had a great Mother’s Day.

Congratulations to Laura Baker!  She is the winner of the Stella & Dot bracelet giveaway.  Please email me with details on your shipping address!

The makeover pictures are a bit on the large side this week, I could not figure out how to downsize them because they were emailed to me, thank goodness she looks good!  I am going to be getting some help with my photography in the coming weeks, hopefully the pictures will become more consistent in size each week.

This week’s makeover is Susan.  Susan has gorgeous almond-shaped eyes and great cheekbones — she was very easy to make up!   Filling in her eyebrows really helped to enhance her eyes.

I have been anxious to try the new CC creams that are out to see how they compare to the BB cream that I have been using on most of my makeovers.  I purchased Oil of Olay Total Effects 7 CC cream ($24) in light/medium. The coverage was okay, I mixed it with foundation as I do with the BB cream but found that the CC cream actually works best when put on first and then followed up with foundation where you still need it.  The CC cream’s finish is not as dewy as the BB cream either.  I want to try it on a few more people before I decide if it was a worthy purchase.

on Susan:  Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer and dark spot treatment #225; Clinique cream blush in peachy; topped with Bare Minerals powder blush in hush hush (similar here) ; Mac eye shadows in brule on lid and velour in crease;  eyeliner smash box in peacock; Maybelline lipstick in sugared honey; two coats of mascara one with Dior show and one with Too Faced queen size .

A Fashionable Friday

I have been admiring this outfit from Emerson Fry  for a while now.  I’m not really sure why, maybe it is my love for the white jean and that she looks so chic and so laid back all at the same time — like she didn’t fuss at all.  But alas, it is a bit out of my budget

Here is my take on the outfit

White on White

One thing that can be had no matter what your budget, is white jeans.  Did you get yours yet?   The season is upon us.  Here are some very good reasons to fit a pair into your budget if you do not already own them:

1)any top that you are thinking about buying or already have, can be worn with white jeans;

2)wear them with heels, flats, sandals or sperrys;

3)wear them casually during the day or dress them up for a night out;

4)they always look fresh and are a no-brainer to add to your wardrobe!

Here are some great examples
